In 2012 Kasia Nowak started her initiative and created network platform for Polish women in the Netherlands. She saw that Polish women are much more ambitious than people realize.
Together with Trade and Investment Promotion Section of Polish Embassies she organized an event with workshops, beauty metamorphoses and networking. Marysia Bialek was the moderator of panel discussion and over 100 women came and enjoyed the evening.
In 2013 the ladies decided to make it bigger and to give the International Women’s Day more substance. The Congress ‘Women Who Want to Make the Difference’ was born. Kasia and Marysia started the cooperation with embassies of Visegrad Group (V4) which consists of the following countries: Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.
The initiators would like to first and foremost stimulate the entrepreneurship of women from exactly these countries, get rid of cultural stereotypes and create a positive image of Eastern European women.
2014 was about motivation. BWC encouraged the women to set up their own business by the stories of inspiring speakers who have made the difference in the Dutch labour market or in their country of origin. Dutch politician, Sybilla Dekker, was the keynote speaker and the event was attend by over 300 women.
In 2015 we moved once to Noordwijkerhout, because of he the beautiful location. The congress was dedicated to Women with Courage. Why? The women from Central Europe are both ambitious and courageous. The courage to reach the top in business in the Netherlands, the courage to work their way up in a foreign country with another culture, and the courage to break away from stereotyping about their compatriots. The keynote speaker was Annemarie van Gaal.
In September 2015 Marysia Bialek organized first sport-integration event for Polish women in the Netherlands. She invited Anna Lewandowska known from her health blog Healthy Plan by Ann, karate champion and wife of footballing legend, Robert Lewandowski, striker at Bayern Munich and captain of the Polish National Team. Anna carried out a seminar about healthy eating and together with Katrin she pushed over 200 ladies to the limits with their trainings. The event was a success and the cooperation with Lewandowska team will be continued.
